Colourisation is planned as an optional add-on alongside restoration. It uses AI to estimate plausible colours — it is an interpretation, not a record of the original colours.
AI can interpret and reconstruct areas that are damaged, faded, or blurry, but it cannot know exactly what was originally there. Very severely damaged photos may only be partially restored.
